Over-Seeding
The best time for over-seeding is after you have aerated and thatched a lawn. The thatching makes sure that the seeds reach the dirt and the aerating allows the seeds to germinate in a moisture environment. Medium to heavy over seeding also works best when combined with a topdressing of peat moss. Over-seeding can solve a lot of problems by making the turf thicker and more resistant to weeds, drought, controling moss and resisting diseases. Vista Green LLC uses only the best quality seeds certified to be 99.9% weed free. This special northwest is formulated to match just about any lawn
It may be a good time to over seed if:
- Lawn has thinned out or is starting to get bare spots
- Removing the moss and thatch has left areas that need to be patch by a peat moss top dressing and over-seeding
- If you have weeds and bad grasses you may also want to over seed
It is important to note that overseeding can take 3-6 week. For best results water frequently for the first month or until roots have had a chance to develop. This usually means watering 1/2 to 3/4 inch twice a day. (No more than 15 minutes at a time.)
